Learning how to manage your stress is incredibly important.
We all have to deal with stress at some point or another in our lives, and while a little stress doesn’t hurt anything, chronic stress can have some pretty serious consequences. If you haven’t already, check out our latest blog series to learn about the dangers of stress. Prolonged stress can be very dangerous, but luckily, there are many benefits to using our bio mats, including stress reduction. The following is a list of a few more things you can do to minimize your stress:
#1. Breathe Deeply
Did you know that shallow breathing can actually make you feel more stressed? That is because shallow breathing causes the muscles to tense and the heart to beat faster. On the other hand, breathing deeply into your diaphragm increases the oxygen in the blood and helps you feel more relaxed.
#2. Smile
Smiling is a truly magical thing. Not only does smiling make you look happier on the outside, but it can make you feel better on the inside too! When you smile, the facial muscles send nerve impulses to the brain, which creates a sense of calm.
#3. Excercise
In addition to the many physical benefits of regular exercise, it also comes with many emotional and psychological benefits as well. When you exercise, your brain releases endorphins, and endorphins help to combat the stress hormone, cortisol. Additionally, exercise also promotes good sleep, which can also help to reduce stress.
